This left-wing influencer is proudly in his agitator era

Jack Cocchiarella's new show is already putting up hall of fame numbers

In December, I chose Jack Cocchiarella as a creator to watch this year.

He was already crushing it on YouTube as one of the fastest growing political channels on the platform. That was before he announced a partnership with MeidasTouch Network to retool your grandparents’ idea of a Sunday show for the social media age.

The first five “On Sunday” episodes pulled in almost 4M views across MTN and Jack’s own page, featuring guests from Bernie Sanders and Ro Khanna to Tommy Vietor and other creators. I knocked on his digital door to see if he’d be down to chop it up about the rollout process, his larger content philosophy, and an ill-fated NBA offseason. He graciously obliged.

Back when we chatted for that piece last year, I felt a sense that he was going to ramp up the agitator levels as his audience grew. Bullseye. Here’s a taste of what you’ll hear in the live on that gamble (and much more):

“I’ve been more antagonistic because I’m just, like, I don’t care at this point. And I shouldn’t care, and no one should care. And I want to be intellectually honest, and in a time in which nobody has a worldview and everyone’s just appealing to whatever is best for them at a given moment, I’m just like, “Here’s my worldview. Let’s lay it out. Let’s be honest.” I’m not gonna bullshit — whatever consequences come with it.

Tune in to the next episode, 7/5, featuring — breaking news from our chat — Gov. Gavin Newsom.

ALL THE CONTENT YOU DIDN’T SEE THIS WEEK

This section is for those who wish they had eyes everywhere but don’t. That’s what Who Broke It is here for. Whether you need to get a grip on the content landscape because you work in politics / media or you’re just a junkie itching for a fix, I’ve got you. Like did you know Elise Stefanik and AG Tish James joined Substack? Or that Kevin Spacey is getting IN on the America 250 grift? Betchya didn’t.

It’s usually paywalled. Out of the kindness of my heart, we’re giving you a taste for free before we start gatekeeping the good stuff :)

Idk what this is: Tucker Carlson teased his launch of a third-party this week in, of all places, the Columbia Journalism Review. He still says he’s “not “interested” in “running” for “office.” Sure, Jan.

And I also dk what this is: Kyle Rittenhouse and Lil Wayne? I will not be investigating further. Sorry, we all have our limits.

  • AOSeeyathere: This clip made such a splash … like 17 million views kind of wave. And all AOC said was “I mean, umm, you know, uh, I hope he is.” The question asked what she thought about Vance saying she could be the 2028 nominee. Lol.

  • Casa Amortifying: The official Democrats TikTok account posted a horny Love Island fan cam dedicated to Jon Ossoff. It only has 3,615 likes. It’s not too late to delete this!!

  • The D&T 500: Yesterday, an account popped up announcing it would track and report on any of Trump’s stock trades. This is legal, ask Nancy Pelosi, whose portfolio has been religiously followed for years. By morning, X had suspended them. Thankfully, Trump Portfolio Tracker is here on Substack.

  • Archie Flunker: Trump’s temporary triumphal arch is literally deteriorating before our eyes. Gone with the wind unfabulous. The content about it has been chef’s kiss. Amanda Moore’s entire feed is full of videos I’m begging you not to miss. Plus this investigative journalism from Madeline Peltz:

  • Endless Poso-bilities: Now tell me why tanking alternative news network correspondent Jack Posobiec is on the inaugural Qatar Force 1 flight with the president (sponsored by Patriot Mobile)? He didn’t even do a “come with me to see the new AF1” video. Negligence!

  • Time Blindness: I guess if you have absolutely nothing to do this weekend you can watch all four hours and 44 minutes and 26 seconds of Shawn Ryan’s interview with Candace Owens. My prevailing sentiment is:

  • Legally Yawned: Sen. Mike Lee really thought he ate with this: “If a woman gives birth at the Supreme Court, is her baby entitled to automatic status as a justice?” I’d give anything to read this post to Ruth Bader Ginsberg.

  • Picture Worth 1000 Words: I really stopped, stared, and studied these images of Elon Musk’s LEGO rocketship birthday cakes for quite some time. My take away is this: I bet this goes hard if you’re 12. Too bad he’s 55!
