Want to watch the State of the Union together?
Boy do I have a treat for you
If you want to skip my SOTU origin story, you can RSVP to our event in NYC on Tuesday at this link. But it’s a fun read.
One thing you should know about me? I love a good State of the Union night. Honestly, I love a bad one too.
As far as cyclical political events go, this one tops the list. There is literally al 👏 ways 👏 drama: the unlikely chats between the unlikeliest members of Congress during the pregame, the potential for aggressive disruption, surprise guests of honor, the sit-stand clapping wars between parties. Can’t get enough.
Over the years, I’ve experimented with different formats allowing us to watch as a group. Only the realest of the real ones will remember …
Our massive Twitch production in 2022, a moment. One of the best parts about making content is that it can serve as a reference for what we’re facing today — most events aren’t new, just repurposed. Days before SOTU 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine leading us to scrap half the show to build a proper segment.
As Trump teases an imminent attack on Iran, we can pretty much guarantee a segment on this topic in the speech. I’ll be ready.
Fast forward to 2024: The live-reaction cam hit.
Dw, this format is staying for those of you that can’t join us in NYC on Tuesday. This the was the speech that everyone was like … maybe Biden is actually … ok??? Short-lived. Fun night though.
2025 … Trump’s 100-minute address to a Joint-Session of Congress.
I’d say 80% of it was Steve and I blinking at the camera like this. But that was kinda the marquee 2025 vibe — no one knew what was going on or what to do about it. Consider it a moment unmet.
Now here we are. 2026. And as much as I love a virtual format that allows you all to be there with me, there’s something about the current moment that has me more than eager to connect with you face-to-face.
