What ever happened to the missing eleventh commandment, the one that rolled down the side of Mount Sinai before Moses could catch it?

I believe it roughly translated to “snitches get stitches.” We live in a tattletaling, finger-pointing, expose-thy-neighbor-lest-they-expose-you ass society now. And the White House loves getting high off their constituents’ supply.

No, I’m not talking about the ICE social media campaign compelling everyday Americans to phone in suspicious activity. Or the National Park Service calling on visitors to report any negative language about our nation’s history. Or the Federal Housing Director posting a specific email address to collect any and all leads on alleged mortgage fraud.

Of note: Whoopi Goldberg is on this list despite famously not being a journalist

On Tuesday night, I got an email from the WH Comms Office with the subject line A CALL TO ACTION: Submit “Media Bias” Tips. This was like adding a wine pairing to a spread they whipped up the weekend prior: a website dedicated to “exposing” media bias. So far it features 13 publications, 60 reporters, and three full newsrooms violating any of 10 different offenses — from “circular reporting” to “malpractice” to “left-wing lunacy.”

All a loyal patriot needs to do to submit a tip is provide your email, the name of the media outlet, and a link to the content. All you see after submitting is “Thank you for subscribing!” which indicates that your tip is being immediately delivered to the digital abyss and your email is immediately added to their newsletter recipients list.

Let’s say that whole operation is set up to behave like the mythological whirlpool-generating, boat-sinking sea monster Charybdis — in this case, she’s skepticism-sowing and newsroom-tanking. That indicates the presence of the equally threatening, six-headed monster, Scylla, on the opposite side of the Potomac River.1

A “SCYLL” ISSUE

The new Pentagon Press Corps comprised of conservative creators (say that three times fast) feels … hungry? dangerous? selective? But also extremely silly. Matt Gaetz — whose eyebrows were the subject of my momentary YouTube fame, who flopped out of the House, whose AG nomination was revoked — is probably the most qualified person in the room, something he attributed to his eight years on the Armed Services Committee.

I’d be in danger of ending up as the WH’s Media Offender of the Week if I lied and said I wasn’t at least intrigued by a line of questioning Gaetz threw at Pete Hegseth’s widely distrusted, word-slurring chief of staff.2
